Following a DMK Enzyme facial, it's not unusual for your skin to experience some dryness, redness, and flakiness. Breakouts may also occur after the treatment. Optimal facial results can generally be seen within 4-10 days, depending on the specific treatment and your skin's current condition. The outcome is also influenced by the level of toxins present in your skin. Enzymes work to deeply detoxify your skin, yielding remarkable results. To ensure the best outcome and continued care, it is highly recommended to use DMK home prescription products.

After your DMK Enzyme Therapy treatment, you can expect the flawless glow, silky texture, and juicy plump appearance to last on average, a minimum of one week to 10 days depends on your skin. With consistent treatments and the use of your full DMK Home Prescriptive products, the longevity of your results increases extensively. Once we have achieved your skin goals, we will adjust your skin regime to a maintenance program to ensure you keep the results you have achieved and progressed. 

It is perfectly normal to experience breakouts after DMK treatments, which is very common though they are not causing them. This is a process we call ‘purging’, which is when our treatments release underlying congestion trapped deep down within the pores and pushes it up to the surface. We see this is a positive response as we are waking up skin functions that were not working optimally. We want to encourage purging as part of the REMOVE phase of the DMK concept. With consistent treatments and use of your DMK Home Prescriptive products these breakouts will clear up as quickly as possible.

This is perfectly normal! Post-treatment dryness is due to the stimulation of the enzymes in your skin that are responsible for controlling the natural exfoliating process as well as the increase of the hydration levels in your skin. Dead cells that have been caked onto the surface of your skin unable to lift away, are now finally beginning to shed away resulting in the skin feeling slightly tight and dry. Your DMK Skin Revision Technician will advise you on the proper post treatment care.

DMK uses 99% active botanical ingredients, which need to be carefully preserved. That is why DMK uses 1% chemical preservatives in some of the formulations because they are the most stable and safest to use for both the consumer and the products. Therefore, DMK is not 100% organic.

If you have had a crisscross of red veins appear where your Enzyme Masque was after a treatment that is amazingly progressed! It means that your capillaries have been flushed of toxins and the blood has been loaded up with fresh oxygen and nutrients to deliver to your skin cells. DMK calls this the Plasmatic Effect and it is a great way to determine how optimally your skin is functioning. The stronger the Plasmatic Effect the healthier your skin! It does not hurt, nor does the skin experience any change in temperature due to the Plasmatic Effect. Usually about 10-20 minutes after a treatment the Plasmatic Effect will disappear entirely, leaving you with post Enzyme glowing skin!

We recommend waiting at least two/three weeks after Botox before receiving TAKAMI KORUGI, and following any aftercare instructions from your injector. Because Korugi involves hands on facial sculpting and pressure, giving the treated areas time to settle is important.

Yes. TAKAMI KORUGI and DMK Enzyme Therapy can be paired in the same session when appropriate for your skin. We’ll always look at your skin, sensitivity, recent treatments, and individual concerns first, then adjust the session to what makes the most sense for you.

Some of the conditions that Microneedling is known to improve include mild to moderate acne scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, skin tone & texture, pore refinement, topical absorption, and hyperpigmentation/hypopigmention. 

Our professional microneedling device uses sterile, single use needle cartridges for a controlled and hygienic treatment. Microneedling is minimally invasive and non surgical, but there is some downtime while the skin recovers.

Immediately after treatment, expect noticeable redness along with possible warmth, tightness, sensitivity, or mild swelling. Over the following days, the skin may also feel dry, rough, or begin to flake as it moves through the recovery process.

Your skin is doing some work after microneedling, so give it the time and space to heal.

Microneedling doesn’t work by removing or thinning a layer of your skin. Instead, it creates tiny, controlled micro injuries that trigger the skin’s natural repair response and support new collagen production.

When performed correctly on an appropriate candidate, those controlled injuries are intentional and part of how the treatment works.

Microneedling is typically spaced about 4 to 6 weeks apart, giving the skin time to recover and move through its natural collagen building process.

For overall skin texture and collagen support, a series of around 3 treatments is often recommended. More focused concerns, such as acne scarring, may benefit from 3 to 6 sessions or more.

Redness, warmth, tightness, and mild swelling are normal immediately after microneedling. Your skin may look and feel similar to a moderate sunburn, and some sensitivity or mild discomfort can be expected.

The initial warmth and redness often begin to settle within the first several hours, but visible redness may remain for a few days. Dryness, rough texture, tightness, or light flaking can also appear as the skin moves through its recovery process.

Downtime looks a little different for everyone, so give your skin a few quiet days to recover.

Microneedling can be appropriate for many skin types and concerns, but it isn’t the right treatment for everyone. Certain skin conditions, medications, medical conditions, and recent procedures can affect how the skin responds and heals.

1. Active skin infections

Microneedling should not be performed over an active bacterial, viral, or fungal infection. This includes active cold sores or other visible infections in the treatment area. Treatment should be postponed until the area has completely healed.

2. Open or compromised skin

Cuts, abrasions, open wounds, broken skin, or significantly irritated areas need time to heal before microneedling. Needling already compromised skin may increase irritation and interfere with normal recovery.

3. Active or severely inflamed acne

Microneedling should not be performed directly over active, inflamed, or infected acne lesions. If you are experiencing a significant breakout, we may recommend allowing the inflammation to settle before treatment.

4. Active eczema, psoriasis, or inflammatory skin conditions

If eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, or another inflammatory condition is active in the treatment area, microneedling should generally be postponed until the skin is calm. If you are being treated for a chronic skin condition, please speak with your dermatologist or healthcare provider first.

5. Recent sunburn or significant skin irritation

Sunburned, sensitized, or excessively irritated skin is not ready for microneedling. Allow the skin to fully recover before scheduling your treatment.

6. History of keloid or hypertrophic scarring

If your skin has a tendency to develop raised or excessive scar tissue, microneedling may not be appropriate for you. Please consult your dermatologist, physician, or qualified healthcare provider before treatment.

7. Bleeding or clotting conditions

If you have a bleeding or clotting disorder, or another medical condition that affects normal blood clotting, medical clearance may be necessary before microneedling.

8. Medications that may affect treatment or healing

Certain prescription medications can affect bleeding, skin sensitivity, wound healing, or your response to treatment. Please let us know about relevant medications before your appointment. Do not stop or change any prescribed medication for a cosmetic treatment unless instructed to do so by the healthcare professional who prescribed it.

9. Conditions that may affect healing

If you have a medical condition that may affect your immune system, circulation, wound healing, or your skin’s ability to recover, please consult your physician or healthcare provider before booking.

10. Recent cosmetic or medical procedures

Recent laser treatments, chemical peels, injectables, surgery, or other procedures may require additional healing time before microneedling. Timing depends on the procedure and your individual recovery, so please let us know what you have recently had done.

11. When you’re simply not sure

If you are currently under medical care, have an ongoing skin condition, take prescription medication, or have any concern about whether microneedling is appropriate for you, please consult your physician, dermatologist, or healthcare provider before treatment.
